2022: 59 coaches at institutions in Cleveland County earned on average $618,744

Cleveland County’s 59 coaches earned an average salary of $618,744 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the second highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Oklahoma post-secondary schools during 2022.

Cleveland County is home to three post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, University of Oklahoma-Norman Campus stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $1,045,472.

Male coaches of men's teams received $1,033,644 on average in Cleveland County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $240,914.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
