Frank Lucas, a long-standing member of the U.S. Congress representing Oklahoma's 3rd district, has recently expressed his views on the state of Treasury debt and financial reforms through a series of tweets. Lucas, who succeeded Glenn English in 1994, has been a vocal participant in discussions regarding national economic policies.
On April 8, 2025, Lucas emphasized the importance of Treasury debt in the current economic climate. He stated, "I can’t think of a more important time in world economic history to be discussing Treasury debt. We’ll be doing exactly that at today’s Task Force hearing. Tune in at 2pm ET"
The following day, on April 9, Lucas highlighted the continuation of discussions from previous sessions. He tweeted, "We also touched on the need for this at the first Task Force hearing last month."
On the same day, Lucas provided more details about the topics covered in the latest Task Force hearing. He said, "At yesterday's Task Force hearing on the Treasury market, we discussed the need to reform the supplementary leverage ratio (SLR) and enhanced supplementary leverage ratio (eSLR)."
