4.6% of Cleveland County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Cleveland County recorded an unemployment rate of 4.6% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 7,113 people out of the 292,110 living in Cleveland County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Cleveland County has remained fairly stable compared to the 4.6% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Cleveland County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 5%.

Of the 149,005 people who had a job during that time, 2,183 were employed in the Armed Forces and 146,822 belonged to the civilian labor force.
