The Norman Parks & Recreation Department is excited to host a Kids to Parks Day celebration on May 20th, 2023, at Rotary Park, 1501 W. Boyd. The event will take place from noon to 2 p.m. and will offer a variety of exciting activities for children of all ages.

Kids to Parks Day is a national initiative celebrated annually on the third Saturday of May, and connects kids and families with their local, state, and national parks and public lands through thousands of park events that promote discovery and exploration in the great outdoors. At the local event, children can participate in story time with the Pioneer Library, engage in exciting Nerf battles, bounce around on inflatables, enjoy delicious snow cones, dance to music, participate in games and more.

"Our department is thrilled to be a part of this nationwide celebration that will offer a fun-filled day of outdoor play for kids in the community," said Parks & Recreation Director Jason Olsen. "We hope families will join us for this special day and take the opportunity to enjoy all that our parks have to offer."

The event is free and open to the public. Families are encouraged to bring sunscreen, water and comfortable shoes for outdoor play.
