University of Oklahoma Finishes Wrestling Season at NCAA Championships

The Oklahoma Sooners concluded their season at the NCAA Championships on Friday.

Five Sooners advanced to the second day of the championship tournament but were all eliminated in the second and third rounds of consolations.

Josh Heindselman advanced to the third round of consolations via a 3-2 decision victory over No. 17 seed Taye Ghadiali in the second round. His tournament run ended with a 4-2 loss to No. 8 seed Sam Schuyler (Iowa State), coming just short of a blood round appearance at 285 pounds.

At 133 pounds, Wyatt Henson was eliminated by No. 7 seed Michael Colaiocco (Penn) in the second round of consolations. Mosha Schwartz fell in the second round of the 141-pound consolations. Tate Picklo lost to No. 18 seed Donnell Washington in his second match in the 174-pound consolations. Mitch Moore fell short in SV-1, 4-2, of his first bout in consolations. The graduate wraps up his collegiate career with 71 wins and two trips to the NCAA Championships.

The Sooners collected 6.0 team points over the duration of their trip to NCAAs.
