Oklahoma redshirt senior pitcher Alex Storako has been named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for her performance last weekend at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, the conference announced the weekly awards Tuesday.

Storako was exceptional in OU's romp of then-No. 1 UCLA Sunday at Mary Nutter, twirling a complete-game shutout of the Bruins and helping OU to a 14-0 run-rule win. The grad transfer surrendered no runs or walks and just three hits to go with five strikeouts. On the weekend, Storako collected two wins in three appearances and 10 innings pitched with wins vs. UCLA and CSU-Fullerton, striking out a combined 11 with no runs allowed, one walk and six hits. Including one individual shutout, she also combined to blank Fullerton with sophomore Jordy Bahl. Additionally, the right-handed pitcher entered a bases-loaded jam against Loyola Marymount on Saturday and retired the side with a pair of strikeouts to end the game.

Storako is 4-0 in the circle in 2023 with an ERA of 0.34 and 26 strikeouts.

The Sooners host No. 17/16 Kentucky and UIC this weekend, March 3-4, for the home-opening OU Tournament in Norman. Oklahoma meets both teams twice on weekend and all games can be seen via SoonerVision on ESPN+ and heard via 107.7 The Franchise or nationwide on the TuneIn app. Tickets for all regular season games at Marita Hynes Field are sold out.
