University of Oklahoma Vice President and Athletics Director Joe Castiglione announced Thursday that head volleyball coach Lindsey Gray-Walton has resigned.
Gray-Walton coached the Sooners to a 65-64 record over the last five seasons and led them to the 2019 NCAA Tournament, the program's first such appearance since 2014.
"We are extremely grateful to Lindsey for everything she poured into our volleyball program," said Castiglione. "She leaves a strong foundation as our program continues to strive for excellence. We're appreciative of her time as a Sooner and wish her nothing but the best."
Under Gray-Walton's tutelage, the Sooners have earned 19 All-Big 12 accolades, including two Big 12 Libero of the Year honors and a Big 12 Setter of the Year award. Gray-Walton's players also earned 12 total AVCA All-Region honors, including eight AVCA All-Region Team selections.
OU's 2019 squad finished 19-9 overall and in third place in the conference, matching the program's second-best Big 12 finish all-time.
Castiglione indicated the search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
