Thursday evening, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (5-4, 1-3 SAC) got back on track with a 3-1 win against Southwestern Christian University (5-6, 0-4 SAC).
The Drovers dropped the tightly contested first set by a score of 26-24, but they rebounded to win the following set 25-12, tying the match at 1-1.
Science & Arts continued to perform at a high level in the final two sets, winning by scores of 25-19 and 25-22, clinching their first conference-victory of the season.
As a team, the Drovers recorded 51 kills on a .227 attack percentage on offense, along with 56 digs and eight total blocks on defense. The Eagles concluded with 44 kills on a .176 attack percentage, in addition to 52 digs and seven total blocks.
Lariah Allen (SR/Oklahoma City, OK)'s triple-double performance highlighted the victory for USAO. Allen's triple-double is only the second in program history, but she is the first to reach the feat with double-digit service aces. The OKC native contributed 12 kills, 12 aces, and 15 digs, accounting for 25.0 total points in the match.
Kat Smith (SR/Midwest City, OK) finished with a match-high of 14 kills on an impressive .385 attack percentage, in addition to four block assists.
Samantha Perez (SO/Oklahoma City, OK) contributed nine kills, six digs, and a pair of block assists. Allison Patak (SR/White Oak, TX) was a force at the net, producing six kills on a .385 attack percentage, along with six block assists.
Alyssa Kooijman (FR/Netherlands) concluded with five kills, while Laura Barrios Bardi (FR/El Paso, TX) added four more.
Madison Garcia (JR/Waipahu, HI) continued to show why she is one of the top setters in the conference, dishing out 44 assists, in addition to a dozen digs.
Marquis King (SR/Glenpool, OK) provided eight digs, four assists, and a pair of aces. Yaiza Larrauri (SO/Little Elm, TX) tallied five digs, followed by Soleil Trejo (JR/Dallas, TX) with four.
