Saturday night, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (0-1, 0-0 SAC) opened the regular season with a disappointing 5-0 loss against No. 12 ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University (1-0, 0-0 KCAC).
After a fairly evenly played first half, the Eagles held a narrow 1-0 lead. Oklahoma Wesleyan tallied four goals in the second half, putting the game well out of reach from the Drovers.
OKWU attempted 14 shots, with 13 of them being on goal, while the Drovers attempted just nine shots, with four being on target.
Caitlin Bishop (SO/Trophy Club, TX) turned away eight of the 13 shots that she faced as the USAO goalkeeper.
Kyleigh Fort (FR/Yukon, OK) paced the Drovers offense attack, attempting three shots. Alicia Rey (SO/Valladolid, Spain) and Laura Barrantes (JR/Bogota Colombia ) each attempted a pair of shots, while Emma Rice (SR/Norman, OK) and Avery Walker (FR/Austin, TX) each attempted one shot.
