University Of Science & Arts Of Oklahoma Sweep, Sweep Victory: Drovers Cruise Past Dallas Christian and Randall

Friday afternoon, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (4-1, 0-0 SAC) extended their win-streak to three with a pair of sweeps against Dallas Christian College and Randall University. The Drovers crushed the Crusaders in straight sets to start the day, followed by another dominant 3-0 performance in the finale against the Saints. 

 VS DALLAS CHRISTIAN COLLEGE (1-1)

In a hard-fought opening set, the Drovers outlasted the Crusaders to win 26-24. USAO cruised to victory in the final two sets, by scores of 25-15 and 25-13.

As a team, the Drovers were efficient on offense and defense, closing with a .234 attack percentage, while holding Dallas Christian to a dismal .040 attack percentage.

Samantha Perez (SO/Oklahoma City, OK) was superb in the win, tallying a dozen kills on a .500 attack percentage. Lariah Allen (SR/Oklahoma City, OK) concluded one dig shy of a double-double, closing with 10 kills, and nine digs, along with a stellar .474 attack percentage.

Kat Smith (SR/Midwest City, OK) contributed nine kills and Laura Barrios Bardi (FR/El Paso, TX) added eight terminations. 

Madison Garcia (JR/Waipahu, HI) was all over the court, producing 35 assists, nine digs, and a pair of aces. 

Marquis King (SR/Glenpool, OK) closed with a team-high of 11 digs, closely followed by Soleil Trejo (JR/Dallas, TX) with eight. 

 VS RANDALL UNIVERSITY (0-4)

The Drovers delivered arguably their best performance of the year as they bounced the Saints in three sets. USAO opened the match in tremendous fashion with a 25-10 victory, followed by a 25-17 win in the second set and a 25-16 triumph in the third set.

Once again, the Drovers were extremely efficient on offense, tallying 41 kills on a .250 attack percentage. Additionally, Science & Arts was even more impressive on defense, holding the Saints to a -.102 attack percentage.

Kat Smith was a force at the net, producing 11 kills and four block assists, in addition to a .316 attack percentage.

Laura Barrios Bardi delivered nine kills on a .500 attack percentage, along with six digs. 

Lariah Allen finished with nine kills, four digs, and three aces.

Samantha Perez continued to impress with eight kills on a .727 attack percentage.

Madison Garcia distributed a match-high of 34 assists, while Soleil Trejo closed with a match-high of 14 digs. 

 

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Drovers will return to action on Thursday, September 1 when they open conference play at Oklahoma Panhandle State University. First-serve is scheduled for 7:00 PM CT in Goodwell, Okla.
