University Of Science & Arts Of Oklahoma Smith, Trotter, and Murphey Place in Top 10 at Swinging Eagle Invitational

Monday and Tuesday, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma men's golf team competed at the Swinging Eagle Invitational and earned a fourth-place team finish. The tournament featured an impressive field of 13 teams, and the Drovers finished only 16 strokes off the lead.

The tournament was competed at Shawnee Country Club in Shawnee, Okla., and the Drovers completed with a three-round score of 899 (299, 294, 306). The course featured a 6,979-yard, par 71 layout.

Caleb Smith led the team with a fifth-place finish as an individual, with a three-round score of 220 (74, 71, 75). Tate Trotter followed closely in sixth place with a score of 222 (74, 73, 75). 

Grant Murphey turned in a top 10 finish as he closed in a tie for eighth, carding a 223 (77, 72, 74).

Conner Cryer concluded in a tie for 12th scoring a 224 (77, 73, 74), and Jax Brewer finished in a tie for 28thwith a 233 (74, 77, 82). 

Luca Gisler and Jaeden Ellis each finished in a tie for 42nd with scores of 239. Luke O'Dell shot a 240 and closed in a tie for 44th.

 

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Drovers will return to action on March 27-28 for the Allen B. Pease Classic, hosted by Oklahoma City University at Rose Creek Golf Club, in Edmond, Okla.
